Experience

Ian kicked off his writing career with a couple of articles about movies – naturally – for his high school newspaper, and then stepped it up a notch for his college paper, the Albany Student Press, penning interviews, reviews, previews, and more. He shifted to public relations after college, but continued to write as a freelancer for newspapers and magazines. In addition to writing for The New York Times Syndicate and writing and editing for StarTrek.com, Ian has contributed to TV Guide, People, OnDirecTV, The Chicago Tribune, SciFi.com, Reader's Digest, Smoke Magazine, New Haven Register, The A.V. Club, and numerous other outlets. He has served as an editor at /Film since 2022.
