- As Sam's expertise has grown, he has traveled to cover pop culture events nationwide, including Comic-Con International in San Diego and New York Comic-Con, as an interviewer, moderator, and panelist.
- Through his academic studies, Sam has learned how to read, write, and speak in multiple languages, and worked as a translator on a number of titles published by Image Comics.
Experience
After writing for Image Comics' preview magazine Image+ from 2016 to 2018, Sam transitioned to write for Comic Book Resources (CBR) in April 2018. Expanding his expertise to professionally covering film, television, and video games, Sam drew from a lifetime of his own interests and fandom to write news, columns, reviews, and interviews. Sam has since written for Looper, SVG, and Popverse, covering the biggest news and burning questions from the biggest projects in the entertainment industry. While still writing for CBR and Popverse, Sam has been writing for /Film since January 2023 and enjoys balancing coverage between newer film and television projects with the older and more obscure movies and shows he has long admired.
Education
Sam has earned an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University, focusing on media criticism and rhetorical theory. He has also earned a graduate degree in Global Affairs, with a concentration in Information Technology & Media, used to observe trends in global media consumption and usage.
